ONE VOICE / ONE SOUND

THE SAGA MUST CONTINUE ...

DRIVEN TO CHALLENGE THE MIND

Here's What You Said

Gloria-Jean Brown:  Dear  C.J - On behalf of Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc.,  and  President/Founder, Peggy Morris,  we would like to invite you to join us on Saturday, 11 October 2008, for our 4Sisters Saturday Program.  As October is Domestic Violence Month, we would be
honored to have you join us for our special program.  We are on-air from Noon to 2 PM.  The studio is located in Largo, MD.  I will send you more specific information, if you will be able to join us on 11 Oct.  We look forward to your reply.  Thank you.

Peggy Morris:  Good Morning Voiced One - I’m not sure how you got my email address,  but I thank you.  I simply love your website and I too was a victim of child abuse (physical and mentally) which drove me to write a paper on the subject during my years at Morgan State University during the 70’s.  So as you can see, this is very close to my heart.  I truly thank you for the Awesome job that Voiced One is doing and I would appreciate if you would get in contact with me so that we can talk.  I’m the President/Founder of Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. and we have an internet radio show that I would love for Voice One to be our guest.  This is an issue that we need to address.  let’s talk.

James & Van, ColorOfChange.org:  Dear C.J. - Thanks for calling out Fox on its pattern of racist smears against  Senator Obama and Black people in general.  We need to send a strong, clear message to FOX executives that weak apologies won't pacify us.  We  want the race-baiting and fear-mongering to end.

Devincent (Baybee) Douglas:  I know nothing to say other than thanks for your page and website.

Michelle Larks:  Continue the Fight!  Peace and Blessings!

Kenyatta Dudley:  I just want to take this opportunity to show my support and appreciation for your ground-breaking organization.  Through your movement, communities are made aware of a sore that has grown to fester.  Child abuse is an epidemic that must be addressed with a proactive force.  You, One Voice/One Sound are that force.  A powerful force sweeping through communities to enlighten, empower and embrace families.  You are a force that educates as we move towards ending abuse.  For this, I thank you, support you and embrace your mission. Together, let us fuel the movement to end child abuse.

Jacqueline Taylor-Adams:  One Voice / One Sound,  thank you for your work and outreach on behalf of abused children everywhere.  The message is raw emotion that touches the soul.  Sometimes its overwhelming and people do not know what they can do to help.    Your persistent call to listen, respond, and connect gives voice to the child who  cannot/will not speak, gives warning to perpetrators that will are not accepting it anymore, and gives opportunities to help for those who don't know how to help.    All this you do in a healing manner.

Barbara Hawkins:   Wonderful - just wonderful.  As a survivor of sexual child abuse by parent, I can relate totally to the trauma a child experiences.  We need to protect our children and society needs to do more.  Women also need more safe ways to escape abusive situations.  That is not the way God intended for us to live.   I have been going through the pages on your site and my heart is heavy.  Memories come back to my mind of my own childhood sexual abuse by my parent, and I know what children go through.  Having said that, the horror of children who suffer at the hands of parents, family members, and even strangers behind physical abuse, is beyond reason.  Children are such gifts from God, and to destroy that either physically or mentally, is actually destroying God's gift.  Our future depends on the secure environment we provide the children - God's children - the precious ones.  I have raised my cousin from the age of 6 yrs. to 21 yrs. because I could no longer stand for her to be in such an abusive environment.  Myeisha was such a sweet child but at a tender age, she knew far too much, about sex, drugs, and bad language;   Yet under-developed in things like table manners, proper hygiene, how to count to 10, how to say ABC's.  We need to get involved one child at a time.  We should never say that it I someone else's problem.  It is OUR PROBLEM!    Keep up your efforts.  The more than get involved, the more impact there will be within our society.

Gerri:  I am truly touched by this website.  I  took the time to go through each of the subtitles,  and reflect back on how real this endeavor is, and is needed.  I applaud you two ladies for your heroism in bringing such a touchy and  sensitive subject to the forefront of the American  people.  We need more Ambassadors like yourself.

I look forward to reading your book Ms. Brooks and in being available to assist you in your cause  and effort.  May God continue to shine upon you  and your efforts.  Lovingly ...

Gerri:  I am a self-proclaimed survivor of sexual  child abuse.  I say self-proclaimed because I  was abused from ages 5-7.  But, now as a 51 year old grandmother, I realize that maybe I'm mentally  affected in some way.  I find myself now facing  felony for a violent attack against my husband, who stopped having sex with me.  I look back and  think about all the mean and disrepectful things  that people have done to me and I am now  more  angrier than I can speak of.  Don't get me wrong, I  have never done anything to hurt or disrespect a  child.  I love children and want to do whatever it  takes to protect them from the shame, violence  and pain that I have grown to know.

Arlether Wilson:  Thank you for all that you do to keep our  children safe.  Keep up the great work.

Lisa Williams (Valdosta Connect):  I don't know you, but this site speaks to my heart.  It is so touching.  I do love kids.  I have two of my own.  It takes a lot of patience with them.  I have also worked with children in my home and in several Day Care centers.  I have a special heart for all children.  Please keep doing what you do.  There are many "silent" kids screaming for someone like you.  "God Bless You".

Shameka Logan:   I just would like to take the time to show my support for what you're doing.  Our women and Children need to be protected. There is so much abuse to our children today especially. We need to all come together and take a stand for them if not for any other reason.  I would like to extend my love for what you truly are doing. Anything I could do please let me know.

Sundra Raspberry:  I pray all your endeavors are blessed this is such a wonderful work you are doing helping the children.  All the Best.

Miah Ford, CEO/Founder - All Female Emcees.com and the Female Emcee Foundation, Inc. proudly supports One Voice / One Sound.  We humbly appreciate your tireless service and devotion towards Children.  We appreciate your voice.  Keep doing what you do for the Global Community of Children.

T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh:  Until each of us considers each child ours and  precious; until we seek  healing from our own  childhoods; until we pledge to make life better for each generation that follows ... the struggle  continues.  Keep up the good work.  Peace and Blessings.

Swazette Whitten, B.A. , M.B.A. - Founder/Director, A Time to Dance, Inc:
Blessings to you and your vision for the  children.  I am glad that there is someone strong enough to stand in the gap for the children.    May the Lord God of Heaven and Earth Bless and   increase your boarders.  May you have so much  support that you will not have room enough to recieve  it.

Sonia Perdue:  Your energy is shining out across the world.  I will certainly make this book one of my must reads. Appreciate the sharing.  Please feel free to add your site to my following sites.  The best to you and all your efforts.

Naimah Lynah:  There are not enough words to express my support for your cause. These are terrible events that happen to children, mostly children with no voice or anyone to speak up for them. I have a hard time pinpointing where the change came that child abuse became so rampant within our society and especially amongst people of color. Child abuse has always been around, but never at such a heightened level as it is now. You have my support, my prayers and whatever help I can give to your cause.

I.J. Brown:
As a former child welfare employee, I  have witnessed the terrors of child abuse.   Fortunantly, I worked in adoptions and had the privilege  of finding new homes for African American  children who had been either abused or neglected.  I applaud your mission and wish you much success.

Mindy Proctor:  I wanted to thank you for starting up an organization, that is trying to help abused children. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I would love to try and help children all around the world. It hurts my hear to see that this is going on. I want to get involved and help abused children before it gets worse. Thank you.

Phe'Nixx Williams:  I scrolled your page and I must admit, that when I saw that picture of the baby in the garbage, I cried.   I cried because that once was me.  I was a Disposable Child, too.  But God is good - And like you, I'm still here too.  I applaude you and what you do.

Trudi James:  Love it! Love it ...

Vincent Gray:  I feel that child abuse is one of  the most disgusting acts that can be committed against children.  I have a great amount of experience working with foster children - and prior to working  with this population, I was really naive.  I did   not think parents actually committed devious acts of violence against children (extension cords, guns, knives, verbal abuse etc.)  I educate parents  all of time and try to break the tradition because it usually runs in the family.  Child abuse can and will affect a child's life in its entirety, unless an immediate intervention occurs.  There is   no perfect parent but there is no excuse for  child abuse!

Louis Jeffries:  God equips each of us to serve and save our world. He prepares us to meet the needs of a dying world. Your experiences have prepared you to do a great work. Though the trials are like being tested by fire, we are made strong for the battle at hand. You have been tested by fire. You have been melted and molded. You have come out as Pure Gold.  Be Encouraged. Be Strengthed. Be Emboldened.  Blessings and Prosperity are yours as you continue to do this Good Work.

Derrica (Dee) Wilson:  I admire what you are doing in the community. It is such a blessing and needed. As a police officer, I had a young lgirl to report to me that she was being abused by her step-father. Her own mother turned her back on this child. I am proud to say that I put this guy behind bars for quite sometime, with of the assistance of his extensive criminal history. That child can now be a survivor such as yourself. Continue to be blessed! Please feel free to add Black and Missing, Inc to your site! I will place your link onto our Safety Resources page once you give me the ok!!!!!

Karlette Karras:   I have taken in an entire family and fought to keep 6 kids in my home to keep them out of the system. I became a licensed foster mother in 2006, To this day I still have 3 of the kids in my home and it has been an eye opener to the fact that the state does not care about the kids in the system. I have to fight to get them services to cope with the physical and mental abuse they have endured for years and the emotional abuse is still on going because the state does not follow their own guidelines. I try to help this kids see that they can have a better future in spite of their past they have the chance to make the present and their future more postive and not to settle for less. I push them to do well in school, respect others and demand respect for themselves. Not to sell out to the streets. I have given up a lot to help these children and my own kids have done the same. I almost lost my house because I refuse to let the devil have his way in their life. Many ask me why I keep doing this and I can only say GOD is the answer to my maddness. I am being obedient and serving him and only him. I don't answer to any one when it comes to taking care of and reaching out to help others. I do believe abuse should be addressed more than it is and if we all stand together and trust and believe in the almighty we can make a differnce! Be blessed.

Ann Thomas:  Praise the Lord for your courage and strength. Continue to be a voice for those who don't  yet have the courage.  Because this is such a worthy cause, and important message to get out to our community, I look forward to working together with you. When we have stage plays and other events, I would be more than willing to bring your website and other information like this to the forefront. I look forward to working with you. Bless you sister.

Kareema Z. Ratliff:   Thank you for this organization. I will do my best to help you in your Quest. I have this kind of problem going on in my family right now.  Two of my own grandchildren have been sorely neglected and mentally and emotionally abused.  Their mother grew up in a neglectful, somewhat abusive home herself and with her mother being mentally ill, her grandmother, who lived in the same house with them, raised her and was verbally, emotionally, and mentally abusive to her so she carried this problem on to her own children.

She refuses to let my son have them and he's been to court several times trying to get custody - but whenever he does, nothing ever happens. Now I ask you, where is the justice in this?  It seems that the only time the courts and social services pay any attention is when it's too late. It seems as though the system is made up to enhance criminal behavior instead of hinder it.  His last attempt to get custody resulted in the judge telling him that his daughter had to testify about her situation with her mother and that she had to be seven (7) years old. She was 6 at the time.

Upon knowing this, his Ex uprooted the girls and moved to Hagerstown, knowing that it would be very difficult for my son to visit them or to try to do anything about their situation. This left us all in a tizzy, as you could probably imagine because now, we don't know what's going on. There are also times where my son can't even contact them via phone calls because it's hard to get through. I'm beginning to think she's mentally ill as well and needs as much help and support as she can get. I think that this will benefit her and it will most certainly benefit the kids. I would like to speak out in behalf of my grandchildren and hopefully, my son can either gain custody or she will get some help and change her abusive, neglectful, ways.  (Thanks for listening!)

La'Rocque E. Bey:   I haven’t been to this site in a few months. I am glad to see it still up and running. Thank You for continuing to educate our people and for continuing fight against Child Abuse.

Bridgette Wolfe:  I am so glad that this site exists. We need to teach, preach and educate our adults to know their responsibilities. I am really enjoying your site.

Mr. Gregory Fordham, Sr.:   Surely my eyes are becoming aware of the injustice to our Children going on around me due to the lack of education - Only because I had to learn it and see it first hand. The solider in me has awakened now, and refuses to lay to rest again. I support you 100%.

Towanda Bailey:   Thank you for your work on this site!

Ron Nolen:   C.J. and Mary - The way you express your points, the way your words flow, your ideas; Much love and due respect to you both.

La Verne B. Rodgers:   I like this. Keep doing what you're doing.

Denise Bethune:   C.J. - Oh my! The book is quite, wow, sinful, sorrowful, painful, real, honest, long suffering, costly; but a redeemer, new beginning, and purposeful. I am so glad that God has turned this all around for you in many ways, and I pray that all who gets a chance to read your book will understand that the suffering of one has the ability to trickle to many.

Ar-Lena  Richardson:   Greetings - Thank you for extending an invitation to sign your Guestbook. I'm honored to be asked by the Visionary. I have visited several of the numerous and informative links. The info "Predators" made my hair stand on end. This can be a scary world on all levels. You have my standing ovation for pure dedication, undeniable effectiveness, and unforetold saved minds and lives.  One Love, One Voice, One Sound.

Eula M. Young:   This is a cause that I am passionate about. I volunteer at my daughter's school, and you can see some of the neglect and abuse (abuse is not always physical). If children's basic needs are not getting met, then how can they learn? I always hold my daughter in the morning. She is 7, and give her a long hug. One of her classmates asked me why do I hug her -So now everyday I give him a long hug too.

Rev. S. LaVonne Harris - Emory Baptist Church:  Be Blessed.

Florence Marrow:   I have raised two children from an abused home, and only the love of God can change this cruel world that would hurt an innocent child. I send you my prayers for all your efforts and hurts you have gone through.

Earnesta Tompkins:  Wow - I think that this is a very awesome organization.   It is very important that we do all that we can to stop Child Abuse.   Children are innocent.   They did not ask to be here.  We brought them here.   Every child is special.   I love kids.   If I see a child and they need help I will help.   My heart goes out to the children that have lost there lives because of irresponsible parents.   But thank God , there are people out here like you that care.
